Técnicas Reunidas Joins the Global Compact Anniversary

Firstly, at Técnicas Reunidas, we would like to congratulate the Global Compact on its journey: 20 years dedicated to sustainability, driving initiatives that help make the world a better place and supporting companies, like ours, that share its mission. Técnicas Reunidas decided to join this initiative in 2011, and since then, sustainability has become a fundamental pillar of our strategy and operations.

Over the years, we have adapted to changes and new regulatory requirements, working from within our company to promote a society with greater social and environmental value.

Our Social Commitment

At Técnicas Reunidas, we are proud of how our employees propose new initiatives and actively participate in them. One such initiative is the training program for women in the Middle East in STEM careers, which was born from the need to address the gender gap in scientific and technological fields. Through this program, we offer women the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge in fields such as engineering and technology, preparing them for roles historically dominated by men.

This initiative not only opens doors to new professional opportunities for women but also fosters greater diversity and inclusion in the workplace, which in turn leads to a more innovative and dynamic environment.

This social focus is particularly relevant in the places where we are present. Each project carefully analyzes the local community to identify needs and agree on initiatives that generate a positive impact.

Global Presence and Local Improvements

Técnicas Reunidas operates in many countries worldwide, and in each of them, we strive to improve local communities. For this reason, we promote the purchase of local products to support local economies and reduce our carbon footprint. In 2023, 85% of our purchases and subcontracting was conducted with local companies, a 19% increase from the previous year.

Driving economic and social growth in various regions is essential for creating a fairer, more prosperous, and sustainable world. These initiatives not only improve lives in the present but also prepare communities to face future challenges successfully.

To carry out all these actions, Técnicas Reunidas relies on top professionals, as certified by our clients. The company will add over 2,000 professionals in the coming years, many of whom will focus specifically on emissions reduction activities. The company has a diverse and inclusive team spread across multiple countries and continents, with a broad range of cultures represented from over 80 countries.

Product Development and Emissions Reduction

We have set the goal of being Net Zero by 2040. To achieve this, we have adopted a comprehensive approach that encompasses all areas of our activity, from the design and construction phases to the operation and maintenance of our projects.

Furthermore, in 2023, Técnicas Reunidas launched a new business line, TRACK, through which we support our clients in their transformation processes and become a trusted partner in their energy transition, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and addressing their impact on climate change.

This includes research and development of new technologies, as well as participation in forums and associations that promote sustainable development on a global scale, like the Global Compact.
