Técnicas Reunidas strengthens its commitment to human rights in India

Técnicas Reunidas India (TR India) has reaffirmed its commitment to human rights by implementing a visual health program in rural areas of Bangalore. The initiative, developed in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Bangalore and the Sankara Eye Foundation, has provided ophthalmological care to communities with limited access to healthcare services.

The program has benefited 926 people, who received comprehensive eye examinations; more than 500 pairs of glasses were distributed, 500 cataract surgeries were performed, and 51 complex ophthalmological procedures were carried out, helping restore vision and improve patients’ quality of life.

The program was implemented through mobile ophthalmology units, which made it possible to reach remote areas where the population has limited access to medical services. This approach enabled early diagnoses and timely treatments, reducing access barriers and promoting health equity.

With more than 1,700 employees in the country, these initiatives are managed by the TR India team in collaboration with NGOs and local partners, a structure that proved essential for coordinating campaigns such as the visual health program.

A commitment reflected in our Human Rights Policy

This initiative is part of Técnicas Reunidas’ global commitment to human rights, as outlined in its Human Rights Policy. In 2024, the company allocated €1,337,877.11 to foundations and non-profit organizations, compared to €267,880.51 in 2023 (an increase of 399%), driven mainly by the €1,024,000 donated to those affected by the DANA. These types of initiatives demonstrate the company’s active commitment to supporting the most vulnerable communities.
