Técnicas Reunidas lays the cornerstone for a new building intended exclusively to house TR Power’s resources

• As a result of the rapid growth and extraordinary prospects of this subsidiary—which was established last January and specializes in the development of large combined-cycle power plants based on gas turbines Técnicas Reunidas has decided to provide it with a dedicated space to facilitate its expansion.
• TR Power, which already has nearly 5,000 million euros in projects currently under construction or awarded, operates in a market where electricity production capacity is estimated to need to triple over the next 25 years.
• At the groundbreaking ceremony for the new building, held today at the Adequa Business Park in Madrid and attended by several hundred employees, the CEO of Técnicas Reunidas, Juan Lladó, emphasized that “TR Power must have its own visibility and be perceived as a leading brand capable of conquering its market.”

Técnicas Reunidas held a groundbreaking ceremony today in the central gardens of the Adequa Business Park in Madrid — where the company’s headquarters are located—for a new building dedicated exclusively to housing the growing operations of its subsidiary, TR Power.

This subsidiary, which specializes in developing combined-cycle power plants based on the latest gas turbine technologies, was created earlier this year to capitalize on the enormous business opportunities emerging in the electricity generation market and the strong prospects for extraordinary growth in this sector over the coming years.

A new building to support growth
At the groundbreaking ceremony for TR Power’s new building—attended by several hundred employees—Técnicas Reunidas’ Executive Chairman, Juan Lladó, emphasized that “the experience we’ve gained over 25 years developing combined-cycle power plants has made us, in the opinion of our clients, one of the world’s leading companies in this field. Therefore, given the extraordinary prospects this business holds, the time had come to give it its own visibility by creating TR Power to make it clear that this is not merely a subsidiary of Técnicas Reunidas and that it is clearly perceived as a leading brand capable of conquering the market.”

In turn, Jorge Macías, Director of TR Power, stated that “the demand for new generation capacity is set to triple over the next 25 years, and a significant portion of it will have to come from combined-cycle power plants—TR Power’s area of specialization—particularly in the three geographic regions where we are firmly positioned and have clear competitive advantages:
Europe, the Middle East, and North America.”

Finally, Eduardo San Miguel, the company’s CEO, emphasized in his remarks that “we have no doubt whatsoever that TR Power will experience extraordinary growth in the coming years. Therefore, it must be clear that it will have as many expert professionals and high-quality resources as necessary to be in a position to take advantage of both the enormous opportunities it already has and those on the horizon in the immediate future.”
